The Party!

For Makayla and Evan's first birthday I made them a train cake. So of course I had to make one for Tyson. I was really dreading it because it is so much work, but this time around it was a lot easier and it looked a lot better than the first two. When we gave him his own piece of cake he put his fingers in the frosting and licked them off a few times, then he figured out he could just pick up the whole piece and get a lot more. He ate the entire piece! I gave him some of the front part of the train with the black frosting on it(not really thinking about it)...not the smartest thing to do! After I washed his face and hair (because when he is done eating he rubs whatever is left on his hands in his hair:0) he skin was light purple! (And for the record this morning when I changed his diaper....black poop!)

We had both mine and Ryan's family over to celebrate with us! We have an amazing family that is always so supportive!:)Opening presents!!!
Granny and Grandpa Clarke gave him the rocking chair he is sitting in, it has his name on the back. Every year for the kids first birthdays she makes a rocking chair for them! He got a hand made wood truck with three different trailers that can hook to it from Grandpa and Grandma Evans, and the sucker he is holding in the bottom picture. He wanted to eat it right then! Aunt Tammy always gives the kids piggy banks and money. Then every birthday after that she gives them money (in coins) to put in their piggy banks. He got a book, a musical TV, little truck and trailer with a tractor on it, fruit snacks, a BIG BALLOON (thanks Uncle Bryon) and money! Ryan and I open our kids a bank account when they turn one so we can start saving for them. So thanks everyone we are going to put the money you gave him in his savings account!
So Uncle Bryon loves to find creative ways to wrap presents!!! They got a very BIG BALLOON and put LOTS of confetti in it with his birthday present. Bryon really wanted to just pop it right in the middle of the front room, but Ryan decided he was going to take it out to the front yard and poke a little hole in the top of the balloon and let the air out slowly. It didn't go quite as planned! He took it to the front door, not all the way outside, poked the hole in it and started to let the air out.....then it POPPED and the confetti went all over! Not outside, INSIDE!!! Bryon and Ryan both cleaned it all up! Thanks guys it was very entertaining to watch!!! And Bryon, Ryan is thinking really hard of a way to get you back!:)

SICK, SICK KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can't seem to stay healthy at our house! A week and a half ago Makayla had strep throat and just barely finished her antibiotic, and has a horrible, nasty cough. Tyson had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago and it never went away. Sunday night Evan and Tyson both had fevers and a horrible, nasty cough!!! I had to work on Monday and decided to not take them to the doctor. I thought I would give it one more day, hoping the fever was just from the cold that they both have. Well Monday night they both had fevers again, so I took them to the doctor Tuesday morning. Evan hates going to the doctor!!! He won't even tell me when he is sick because he is afraid that I will take him to the doctor. So he threw a MAJOR fit the entire time!!! Cried all the way there, wouldn't get out of the van, when he finally got out of the van he wouldn't walk into the doctors office, when he finally walked into the office he started crying again and hitting me! He stopped for a minute until they called our names and then he wouldn't get off the chair. I had to drag him by the arm while carrying Tyson, my purse and diaper bag! Once we got into the room he hid behind a chair and would not come out. They looked at Tyson first. Both of his ears are infected and his lungs sound horrible!!! The doctor said that he doesn't sound like he has pneumonia or RSV YET! He told me to just watch him really close and make sure his breathing doesn't become too labored. Not good!!! So finally Evan's turn to be seen... The doctor tries everything to get him to come out from behind the chair. He tried to get him to hold his cool flashlight, Evan wouldn't do it. The doctor was so nice and really patient with him! A lot more patient than me. I had to finally give Tyson to the doctor to hold so I could pull Evan out from behind the chair, kicking and crying! I finally got him up on the table and took Tyson back from the doctor, I had to fight Evan the entire time! His ears looked great, but..... his throat didn't! I had to once again give Tyson to one of the nurses so I could hold Evan down so that the doctor could culture his throat. (He was a MAJOR stinker pants!!!) The throat culture came back positive for Strep! So, they are both on an antibiotic and I hope that they both get feeling better FAST!!!

Cheerleader Makayla

We watched Misty and Bryon's kids last night, so they got to come to the game with us! They were so excited to watch Makayla dance. All the kids LOVED the band and music they were all jamming to the music. Even Broc and Tyson were into it! It was fun to watch the kids have such a good time!
Grandpa Clarke always signs the girls up to do the dance and cheerleader clinics at Fremont and Makayla LOVES it!!! She loves to go out there and perform and she is good at it! I took the girls (Makayla and her cousin Raygan) to the practice on Thursday, on the way home I could hear the girls in the back talking. Raygan was saying that she was sooo nervous for tomorrow (which was the game) and Makayla said oh don't be nervous it's just fun! She honestly just loves it and is not nervous at all. I told her at all the practices that she needed to make sure she was up front so she could see the cheerleaders and learn the dance. Before she went out to perform I told her when she ran out on the court to run up to the front so we could see her. When they started to line up to come out she was in the back. When it was time for them to go out and dance they all ran in and Makayla kept running until she was in the front row! I don't know if that 's a good thing to tell her to do but heck if she can pick where she stands why not in the front, right?!

Our Snowman Jack Frost

Makayla and Evan were begging Ryan to go outside and build a snowman with them. So they go outside and Ryan starts to roll the snow into a ball, he looks at me through the window and says that the snow is too powdery and it won't work. The next thing I see is Makayla starting to roll a snowball and it works! She and Evan made the snowballs for their snowman. I guess you have to be a kid to make the snow roll into a snowball! The kids were so excited. Makayla said that they named the snow man Jack Frost (after the movie "Jack Frost") and Evan didn't want to put a hat on his head because he didn't want him to come alive!

11 Months Old

Tyson is now 11 months old, next month is his birthday!!! I can't believe it! He is still really fiesty and can give a really good mean look! This month he has mastered the stairs. He can go up and down by himself. (He loves to play on the stairs.) I am still right behind him, because he does fall sometimes. He really enjoys to pull everything out of the diaper bag, it keeps him busy for a few minutes! The dark picture is of Tyson looking out the front window at Makayla and Evan playing in the snow. He loves to pull himself up to everything and walks along whatever he is holding on to. Makayla and Evan were both walking at 11 months. Tyson just really doesn't seem to care. I feel like he just mastered crawling. He'll get it when he's ready! We love you Tys even if you are a fiesty little stinker!!!

Girls Day Out!!!

Each month since JT has been gone we try and get together with Jessika, my mom and sisters and do something. Last Saturday we went out to lunch at Golden Dynasty and then went to see "New in Town" It was SO cute!!! I laughed so hard, it was just a really good movie! And it is always so much fun to be with my family!

Evan's Preschool Field Trip

In January Evan's preschool class went to Lee's Market in North Ogden. They have so much fun! The guy that gives the tour is so silly with the kids and the kids love it! They get to tour the entire grocery store and also the back storage part. When they were done touring they got to play "cashier". Evan was scared to do it, but not Makayla she isn't scared to do anything and it wasn't even her class. Tyson and Broc were so cute in the stroller and really good as long as they were eating Goldfish.
