For Makayla and Evan's first birthday I made them a train cake. So of course I had to make one for Tyson. I was really dreading it because it is so much work, but this time around it was a lot easier and it looked a lot better than the first two. When we gave him his own piece of cake he put his fingers in the frosting and licked them off a few times, then he figured out he could just pick up the whole piece and get a lot more. He ate the entire piece! I gave him some of the front part of the train with the black frosting on it(not really thinking about it)...not the smartest thing to do! After I washed his face and hair (because when he is done eating he rubs whatever is left on his hands in his hair:0) he skin was light purple! (And for the record this morning when I changed his diaper....black poop!)
We had both mine and Ryan's family over to celebrate with us! We have an amazing family that is always so supportive!:)
Opening presents!!! Granny and Grandpa Clarke gave him the rocking chair he is sitting in, it has his name on the back. Every year for the kids first birthdays she makes a rocking chair for them! He got a hand made wood truck with three different trailers that can hook to it from Grandpa and Grandma Evans, and the sucker he is holding in the bottom picture. He wanted to eat it right then! Aunt Tammy always gives the kids piggy banks and money. Then every birthday after that she gives them money (in coins) to put in their piggy banks. He got a book, a musical TV, little truck and trailer with a tractor on it, fruit snacks, a BIG BALLOON (thanks Uncle Bryon) and money! Ryan and I open our kids a bank account when they turn one so we can start saving for them. So thanks everyone we are going to put the money you gave him in his savings account!
So Uncle Bryon loves to find creative ways to wrap presents!!! They got a very BIG BALLOON and put LOTS of confetti in it with his birthday present. Bryon really wanted to just pop it right in the middle of the front room, but Ryan decided he was going to take it out to the front yard and poke a little hole in the top of the balloon and let the air out slowly. It didn't go quite as planned! He took it to the front door, not all the way outside, poked the hole in it and started to let the air out.....then it POPPED and the confetti went all over! Not outside, INSIDE!!! Bryon and Ryan both cleaned it all up! Thanks guys it was very entertaining to watch!!! And Bryon, Ryan is thinking really hard of a way to get you back!:)
