Our Christmas

At the Christmas party with my dad's side of the family, my dad always plays "Santa" and gives the kids a present that my Aunt Tammy brings. Kinda silly but the kids love it!
On Christmas Eve we go to my parents house and act out the nativity, have a yummy dinner and open up our Christmas jammies. For the nativity Makayla was Mary, Evan was a Shepherd, Tyson was a Wise man, I was an innkeeper and Ryan was the donkey. After the nativity Makayla played Jingle Bells on the piano, she had been practicing it all month. She did a great job!

Evan got a a special "sleep drink and reindeer food" from Teacher Misty at preschool. So when we got home from my parents on Christmas Eve the kids were so excited to sprinkle the reindeer food on the snow in the front yard and drink their "sleep drink" (it was hot chocolate, a candy kiss, a marshmallow snowman and a candy cane). Makayla put the cookies on Santa's plate along with 8 carrots for the reindeer.

Christmas morning!!! Evan woke up at 3:30 am and wanted to go downstairs! I told him it was WAY to early and to go back to bed. It took him a while to go back to sleep. Then finally at 7:00 am Makayla and Evan woke up and we had to wake up Tyson. They were so excited!!! Tyson wasn't sure what to think, he was more excited to sit on the balloons and pop them!

On Christmas afternoon we went over to Clarke's to have our Christmas party with them. We brought our new sleds and went sleigh riding behind Ronda's four wheeler. The kids had a great time!

The day after Christmas we went to Hardware Ranch to see the elk. Tyson is absolutely obsessed with elk. Ryan got a email a while ago with elk on it and Tyson will sit and watch it over and over again. Ryan also has a picture of him holding a elk head on his phone and Tyson begs to see it. He loves them! So we were so excited to see his reaction when he saw the real live elk! He didn't get real excited, he just stared at them taking it all in. He kept saying "elk" and pointing at them and "poot" which means poop. There was a lot of poop and they just kept pooping! He also loved the horses that were pulling the wagons around. He loves animals which is not like Makayla and Evan. We all had a great time!

Makayla's 7!!!!!

Makayla turned 7 yesterday, WOW!!!! Uncle Bryon and Makayla share the same birthday. So on the Sunday before their birthday we celebrated with the Houghton's. Everyone came over to our house. Makayla chose chocolate cheese cake for their birthday cake. On her real birthday she picked out her favorite clothes to wear to school, fixed her hair super cute, took a treat to share with her class (candy canes) and off she went to school. She was so excited to go to school and have her class celebrate her birthday with her. When she got home she opened her present from Ryan and I. She wanted to help decorate her cake, so she picked out the colors for the frosting and started decorating. It turned out really cute. We wrote Happy Birthday on top and wrote Makayla on the side. Then she put lots of sprinkles on it! She went to dance and while she was at dance Tyson got into the cake!!! The little turkey loves to crawl up on the bar stools and get on the counter! We had Clarke's over that night to celebrate with us. It was a great day!!!

Time flies by way too fast! Makayla we love you so much and we are so proud of you. You are such a good helper with your brothers and so much fun to have around the house. Happy Birthday our sweet Makayla!

Here is our Halloween. We had parties at Clarke's and Houghton's and we always have so much fun!
For Thanksgiving we went to Clarke's and ate a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Then I had to go to work:( and Ryan stayed at his parents and the kids played and had a great time.

My Turn

Last Thursday I had my tonsils and adenoids out. Let me just tell you....Makayla is so much stronger than I am!!! I don't know how she did it! It's been rough. I can't wait until I can eat something and it doesn't hurt. Ryan has been so awesome through the whole thing. I'm so thankful for his patience with me and taking care of the house and the kids. I hate feeling like I can't take care of my family. I love my family so much!!!

This Month...

October is the month of the HUNT!!!! Ryan is gone for 3 weekends in a row. The first 2 are for the elk hunt and the 3rd one is deer. Ryan goes with his dad, his Grandpa and Bryon. This was Bryon's first year elk hunting and he is the only one who shot an elk!!! They all had fun getting off the mountain!:) For the deer hunt Ryan goes with my dad, my brother, Byron and Auston. (Next year Evan gets to go!) They didn't have any luck with the deer hunt:(

While they are gone Misty and I hang out and have lots of fun! We made bats out of black balloons and paper, ate great food, went through baby clothes, dealt with CRAZY kids, and went to the Enchanted Woods at The Treehouse Museum!

Tonsillectomy!!!!

Makayla is suppose to get her tonsils out tomorrow. We are going in today to do the pre-registration stuff. She has had a cough but isn't coughing hardly at all anymore, so hopefully they will still do it. I'm nervous for her, she has never had any kind of surgery before. It's always a scary thing. She is really brave and pretty tough, so I'm sure she will do just fine. The bad thing is that I have to have mine out in a month!!!! I'm really freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

18 Months

Tyson is 18 months!!! He is getting so big and we love him soooo much!!! He is such a funny little guy. He loves to make us laugh! He was eating spaghetti in this picture and he knew that it was all over his face, so he was cheesing it up!!! He is starting to talk, he says, mom, mommy, daddy, more, puppy, horse, mil for milk, b for binky, cheese, please, kayla, and more that I can't think of right now. He loves animals! Which is not like my kids. Makayla and Evan are scared to death of any animal! He loves to dance, play outside and ride his bike and 4-wheeler, swing and read books. Tyson you are such a sweet little baby, we love you so much!

JT's Home!!!!!!!

JT came home on September 10th and it was such a GREAT day!!!! We decorated the road that my parents live down with banners and balloons, made a balloon arch and decorated the house. Then we were off to the airport. We were all standing in front of the escalators and saw him coming down, he saw us too. He waved at us and we all squealed a little and waved back! It was so good to see him!!!! He was so happy! It almost didn't even seem real. When we got home we all just followed him around the house like little puppy dogs. He walked into the house and took off his shoes and socks. They don't have carpet in Brazil and can't walk around barefooted. He walked around on the carpet squishing his toes in the floor, it was funny. Then he walked in the kitchen and opened the fridge, then he walked down to his bedroom and just plopped himself on his bed. It was just so good to see him and talk to him.

FHS Jr. Sliverline

Makayla loves to dance!!! She has been a part of the Jr. Silverline for a few years now and loves it! They get to practice with the drill team all week and then perform their dance and the half time in the football game. The half time performance is really crazy and we couldn't really even see her dance, but she had fun doing it. After they performed we went out to eat with our family and friends. It was a fun night!

Evan's started Preschool

This was at back to school night. They made cars to put up on the poster board at school.
Evan started his 2nd year of preschool at Appleseed Academy. They started the day after his birthday so he got to make an "All about me" poster, take the snack, a birthday treat and the apple basket! We got everything all at once!:) He was so excited to bring it all to school. He was really excited to see all of his friends from last year and of course Teacher Misty! (he thinks she is the BEST!)

JT's Birthday

JT's birthday was Sunday August 30th. He celebrated it with some of the members. I love this video, it's just so good to see him. He comes home September 10th!!!! We are SO excited!!!

Happy Birthday Evan!!!

Evan is 5!!!! I can't believe it! We invited family over to celebrate Evan's birthday. He wanted a baseball cake for him and baseball cupcakes for his Webkinz Tad (a frog). There birthday's are on the same day. :) So we made both!

He was so funny opening his presents. He has been asking for a Nintendo DS for his birthday since Christmas. He was so happy when he opened the DS. He was kissing it and saying my DS, my DS. After seeing that it was totally worth getting him one. He got games for the DS, money, a wooden dump truck that Grandpa Evan's made, a backpack full of stuff, a belt and a lasso rope. I think he kissed all of them! It was so much fun to watch him! Happy Birthday little Ev, we love you so much!!!:)

Makayla's First Day of 1st Grade!

Yesterday was Makayla's first day of 1st grade. She was so excited!!! I asked her on Sunday if she wanted me to walk her into school and into her classroom and she said, "No" So I thought no big deal she knows where her classroom is and she is pretty independent. So she got her outfit all picked out and got ready. I was going to take pictures before she left and Evan asked if he could take one too. He went to take a picture and dropped the camera on the floor and it broke! The zoom lens was stuck open and it wouldn't turn on. I was so mad!!!! I really wanted to get a picture of Makayla on her first day. So I dropped her off at the front doors and in she went. I worried about her ALL day long! 1:15 couldn't come fast enough, so I could go and pick her up from school. I asked her how her day was and she said fun, then I asked her if a lot of parents went into the class with their kids and she said yes, then I asked her if she wishes I walked her in too, and she said NO!!! Little stinker!!!! I am glad that she feels comfortable enough to do things by herself. It's so weird to have her gone all day, but she loves it!!!

Ryan fixed the camera for me and I was able to take a picture of her on her 2nd day of school!:)

Toothless!!!

Makayla was eating a sucker (the small ones that you would get at the credit union) and she stuck it in between her two front teeth and pulled on it. It knocked her tooth loose and was hanging sideways. The tooth was not loose before she did this! It just kinda hung sideways and bucked out. It wasn't looking too cute and she wouldn't pull it out. So I made a dentist appointment and had her pull the tooth out for us. Now she has a huge space and no tooth coming in. Silly girl!!!

Lagoon

We took our kids to Lagoon for the first time on September 11. It was soooo much fun!!! We went with Bryon and Misty and their two oldest Auston and Adyson. We left Tyson home with my mom and Ryans mom. (Thanks so much for watching him!:) We got there when it opened and stayed until almost 10pm . I rode on most of the big rides with Ryan, Bryon and Auston. Makayla rode on the Spider and got really scared, so she wouldn't ride on anymore of the big rides. She stayed on the kiddie rides with Evan and Ady. We had such a FUN time!!!

Temple Square

This week we took the kids to Temple Square. We went to the visitors center first and saw all the pictures of Christs life and the statue of Christ. Then the missionaries showed us a video presentation about families. That was my favorite part. You move from room to room and see a clip of the movie in each room. In the room is a small replica of a room from the movie. Like your really in that room. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was really cool. Then we walked around the temple and saw all the brides and grooms getting their pictures taken, the kids loved looking at the brides. We tried walking through the Beehive House but the kids were way to noisy and had too many wiggles and we had to leave, we were really loud! Another fun day with the kids!!!

Browne Lake

Every year we go to Browne Lake with Ryan's family. Ryan's Grandpa and Grandma Evan's have been going to Browne Lake forever. It's there favorite place to be. They also go elk hunting there. It's so pretty there! We sat around the camp fire and roasted biscuits and marshmallows, and Granny sang us some pretty silly songs!
We went fishing (and caught NO fish) Colton took Evan out in his raft and then Ryan took Tyson out in the raft. Granny and Shawnee took the kids out in the paddle boat.

Tyson loved playing in the dirt. He was sooooo dirty from head to toe! The mosquito's were REALLY bad and munched on Tyson's face all night long. He had so many bites all over his face and head. Poor little guy!:(

And we went 4-wheeling! The kids' favorite part!!!
