Makayla's Dance Recital

A New Job!!

Last night was my last shift at Life Care Center of Bountiful (a nursing home in Bountiful). I have worked there for just over 6 1/2 years. I started out full time and then as I started having kids I dropped days. So now I work 1 day a week and love it. It works out so great! I love that I can be home with my kids and still keep my nursing license current. I am very grateful for Ryan who works TWO jobs so that I can only work one day a week and be at home with our kids.
My new job is at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden. I am really excited to start there. It will be a nice change, it is also a lot closer to home!!! It will cut about 10 minutes off my driving time. I worked at Crestwood as a CNA about 10 years ago it's a really nice facility. I hope everything goes as well as I hope!

Preschool Graduation

Our first swim day!!!

Makayla and Evan have been so excited to put the swimming pool up and swim. So today it was warm enough and they finally got to swim.

Makayla's Dance Pictures

Makayla loves to dance! She is constantly dancing around the house usually making up her own dances mixed in with the ones she is learning in her dance class. Today she had her dance pictures. She was so excited to get all dressed up and put my makeup on. I had Cassie (my sister) do her hair. I'm not really good at it and Cassie loves it and does a great job. Thanks Cassie!!!:) Anyway, she looked beautiful and loved every minute of it. She can't wait until she gets to perform on the stage. She is our little dance star!

My Birthday

I had such a great birthday. I decided that I just wanted to stay home and enjoy the night with my family. I am posting a picture of my birthday cake because it was kinda a disaster! First, it was cooling on the stove and I opened the cupboard with the salt and pepper in it and the salt fell out right on the cake and salted one side of it. Then we sang happy birthday without the frosting on (not sure why, we just did) and after the candles were blown out Evan was picking them out and licking them to get the frosting off, but there was no frosting and he was quite disappointed. So when I started putting the frosting on Evan got a candle and starting scrapping the frosting with the candle and eating it. So there was little marks all over from were he was scraping. Then Makayla wanted to help frosten the cake so I got her a spoon and she started to smear it around, and up came the cake with it. So there was cake mixed in with the frosting. It had to have been the best cake ever!!!

Of course the kids got to help blow out the candles. Having a birthday is more fun for the kids than it is for me. My family is wonderful. Thanks for a great day!:)

Being a Mom

I love being a mom! Motherhood is the most rewarding thing I have ever experienced. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for trusting me with his most precious spirits. The primary children sang in Sacrament meeting today "Mother Dear" and when Makayla came back down to sit with us she said "Where is your smiling face". And of course I smiled at her. I just thought that was so sweet and thought that I need to be more happy and smile more. I worry to much about what needs to be done around the house and getting ready to leave to run Makayla to preschool or dance that I forget to take time and enjoy my life and my sweet kids. They grow up way to fast. I am grateful for Mother's Day and the time that I 've had to reflect on the mom that I am. I am also very grateful for my mom. She is truly amazing. She is the glue that holds are family together. I love her so much. I love being a mom!

Our cute little Evan

Evan loves to play outside and is just learning how to dribble a basketball and make baskets. We have a little basketball hoop at our house that he plays around on, but playing on a real basketball hoop was so much fun for him. He was so determined to make a basket he kept trying and trying until he did, he was so proud of himself! Now he thinks we need a basketball hoop like Grandpa Houghton's at our house....

ok so... Makayla loves to play dress up's, and Evan loves to play with Makayla, on more than one occasion Evan has begged to wear one of Makayla's dress up's and he has. (Ryan was not very happy about that) So for his birthday last year his Granny Clarke made him some boy "dress up's" . I really need to get him watching more superhero shows. He doesn't dress like this very often so I had to take a picture.

Tyson's Big Day

Tyson was blessed on May 4th. It was a wonderful day. We had so much family come to support and celebrate this special occassion with us. We have the best family... Thank you everyone, We love you! Tyson's Granny Clarke made his precious little blessing outfit. She is amazing, it's something he will treasure forever.
