Family Reunion

We just got back from our family reunion in Mantua, Utah. It was so much fun. Our theme was out of the Book of Mormon time so we planned games and crafts around that. We did a wilderness hunt with guns and bows and arrows. Grandma took us on a walk/hike to a trail they went on for girls camp. We were just going to go to the trail head and when we got there she said oh lets just go up a little ways. So we started up and it was straight up. (It was just us girls and our kids) I had Tyson in a front pack and I was really scared that I was going to fall with him so Makayla and I went back. But everyone else went ALL the way up. The kids did so good and had such a fun time. We made little Indian pouches and painted bird houses which turned out so cute! Then we made Nephite headbands and made up names for everyone. There were some pretty interesting names. We brought up Ryan's mom and dad's paddle boats and paddled around Mantua, and the kids played in the water and sand. The guys fished a little but didn't catch anything, but still had fun. We brought a pinata, which is the kids favorite part. They all got one turn to swing at the pinata before Auston broke it and they all went running for the candy. Ryan, Bryon and John made a rope swing for the kids and pushed and spun them around until they were sick. Each family had to prepare a skit from one of the stories in The Book of Mormon and act them out and we had to guess what story it was. Everyone did a great job! And of course we roasted marshmallows and biscuits around the fire. We had a great time and made wonderful memories!

Makayla's Bell

Makayla is always putting stuff in her mouth, and I'm always telling her to get it out or she's going to swallow it and it will hurt really bad. Well today she was up in her room with her cousin Auston and I called up to ask them what they were doing and Auston said, "Makayla swallowed a bell!" and then I hear Makayla say "no I didn't" So of course I start freaking out just a little bit. I knew she was okay because she was talking so I go upstairs and ask Makayla if she's alright and she said it hurts and points to her throat. (I know I'm a nurse but all that stuff goes right out the door when it's your own kid) So Misty was there and tells me to give her some bread to help it go down, so we do that and she said it felt better. Well I ended up calling our doctor and they said that we needed to come in and get an x-ray to make sure it went in her belly and not in her lungs. So we go in and all the nurses and doctor are all chuckling. One of the nurses said that we could shake her upside down and listen for the bell to see if it's in her tummy. It was pretty funny, but I didn't want Makayla to think it was funny, she needs to learn a lesson here! Anyway they took the x-ray and we could totally see the round little metal bell in her belly. I'm really mad that I didn't take a picture of the x-ray it was so funny. The picture is of her laying on the x-ray table she was laying really still she was being a really good patient. When she was all done and getting dressed she asked me if we could go and get a treat after, I told her no, then she said can I get a toy! She was really good but I wasn't about to reward this incident. But she will be just fine, we just need to wait for it to pass!!!

Tyson is 3 months old

Wow, I can't believe Tyson is already 3 months old. He is such a good baby. I love his smiles, they make my day. He loves to watch Makayla and Evan and smile and talk to them. He loves it when they hold him (most of the time). He has figured out how to get his fat little fist in his mouth and loves to suck on it or his fingers whatevers there. I hope he doesn't become a thumb sucker. I love his cute little chunky body, his cheeks, his arms, his legs, oh he is sweet! I enjoy him so much!!! He loves the bath tub. I lay him in there and he starts kicking his legs and gets his arms moving and smiles. He has just started to cry when I put him down to clean or cook or whatever and the minute I pick him up he is as happy as can be. It's so funny how they know how to get what they want at such a little age. I am so blessed to be a mom. I love being home and spending time with them. I love being a mom. Tyson you are such a sweet little boy, I love you so much!
