Our Christmas

At the Christmas party with my dad's side of the family, my dad always plays "Santa" and gives the kids a present that my Aunt Tammy brings. Kinda silly but the kids love it!
On Christmas Eve we go to my parents house and act out the nativity, have a yummy dinner and open up our Christmas jammies. For the nativity Makayla was Mary, Evan was a Shepherd, Tyson was a Wise man, I was an innkeeper and Ryan was the donkey. After the nativity Makayla played Jingle Bells on the piano, she had been practicing it all month. She did a great job!

Evan got a a special "sleep drink and reindeer food" from Teacher Misty at preschool. So when we got home from my parents on Christmas Eve the kids were so excited to sprinkle the reindeer food on the snow in the front yard and drink their "sleep drink" (it was hot chocolate, a candy kiss, a marshmallow snowman and a candy cane). Makayla put the cookies on Santa's plate along with 8 carrots for the reindeer.

Christmas morning!!! Evan woke up at 3:30 am and wanted to go downstairs! I told him it was WAY to early and to go back to bed. It took him a while to go back to sleep. Then finally at 7:00 am Makayla and Evan woke up and we had to wake up Tyson. They were so excited!!! Tyson wasn't sure what to think, he was more excited to sit on the balloons and pop them!

On Christmas afternoon we went over to Clarke's to have our Christmas party with them. We brought our new sleds and went sleigh riding behind Ronda's four wheeler. The kids had a great time!

The day after Christmas we went to Hardware Ranch to see the elk. Tyson is absolutely obsessed with elk. Ryan got a email a while ago with elk on it and Tyson will sit and watch it over and over again. Ryan also has a picture of him holding a elk head on his phone and Tyson begs to see it. He loves them! So we were so excited to see his reaction when he saw the real live elk! He didn't get real excited, he just stared at them taking it all in. He kept saying "elk" and pointing at them and "poot" which means poop. There was a lot of poop and they just kept pooping! He also loved the horses that were pulling the wagons around. He loves animals which is not like Makayla and Evan. We all had a great time!

Makayla's 7!!!!!

Makayla turned 7 yesterday, WOW!!!! Uncle Bryon and Makayla share the same birthday. So on the Sunday before their birthday we celebrated with the Houghton's. Everyone came over to our house. Makayla chose chocolate cheese cake for their birthday cake. On her real birthday she picked out her favorite clothes to wear to school, fixed her hair super cute, took a treat to share with her class (candy canes) and off she went to school. She was so excited to go to school and have her class celebrate her birthday with her. When she got home she opened her present from Ryan and I. She wanted to help decorate her cake, so she picked out the colors for the frosting and started decorating. It turned out really cute. We wrote Happy Birthday on top and wrote Makayla on the side. Then she put lots of sprinkles on it! She went to dance and while she was at dance Tyson got into the cake!!! The little turkey loves to crawl up on the bar stools and get on the counter! We had Clarke's over that night to celebrate with us. It was a great day!!!

Time flies by way too fast! Makayla we love you so much and we are so proud of you. You are such a good helper with your brothers and so much fun to have around the house. Happy Birthday our sweet Makayla!

One of our Christmas traditions is making gingerbread houses. We get to decorate one with Houghton's and one with Clarke's. We have so much fun, and they smell and taste so yummy! Ryan is good at sneaking the candy off the houses and the kids are following in his footsteps:)

Halloween and Thanksgiving

I know that it has been forever since I have updated! It's because everytime I get on the computer my kids start crying and pull me off. They HATE it when I am on the computer!!! So I never have a chance to blog.
Here is our Halloween. We had parties at Clarke's and Houghton's and we always have so much fun!
For Thanksgiving we went to Clarke's and ate a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Then I had to go to work:( and Ryan stayed at his parents and the kids played and had a great time.

My Turn

Last Thursday I had my tonsils and adenoids out. Let me just tell you....Makayla is so much stronger than I am!!! I don't know how she did it! It's been rough. I can't wait until I can eat something and it doesn't hurt. Ryan has been so awesome through the whole thing. I'm so thankful for his patience with me and taking care of the house and the kids. I hate feeling like I can't take care of my family. I love my family so much!!!

This Month...

October is the month of the HUNT!!!! Ryan is gone for 3 weekends in a row. The first 2 are for the elk hunt and the 3rd one is deer. Ryan goes with his dad, his Grandpa and Bryon. This was Bryon's first year elk hunting and he is the only one who shot an elk!!! They all had fun getting off the mountain!:) For the deer hunt Ryan goes with my dad, my brother, Byron and Auston. (Next year Evan gets to go!) They didn't have any luck with the deer hunt:(

While they are gone Misty and I hang out and have lots of fun! We made bats out of black balloons and paper, ate great food, went through baby clothes, dealt with CRAZY kids, and went to the Enchanted Woods at The Treehouse Museum!
